Family: Daisy Family Habitat: Compacted soil, often on footpaths or tracks. Season: Leaf/Flower- Summer Harvesting notes: Sometimes confused with Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) probably because Pineappleweeds other common name is Wild Chamomile. Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) however produces large white ray florets while pineapple lacks ray florets.
Culinary notes: Pineappleweed has notes of both chamomile and pineapple. Amazing as a tea or in infused into sorbets, granita and ice creams. The tender, feathery leaves can also be used raw as a garnish.
